FREE Royal Flush Festival Opening Night Party on Thursday

There once was a little festival known as the Evil City Film Fest.  This little fest grew up, changed its name to the Royal Flush Festival, and added live music, underground art openings, and music videos to its lineup of killer independent films.  And Thursday the festival kicks off with a FREE Party at Hiro Ballroom, located in the Maritime Hotel.

Live performances include The Beatards (you know you love em!), Miz Metro, Bryonn Bain, DJ Vikas, and Kenny Mohammad aka The Human Beatbox.  Along with no cover, 2-4-1 drink specials are happening from 10-11pm.

Named after the Royal Flush Magazine, a zine for lovers of music, art, comics, street culture, skateboarding, graffiti, sneaker culture, pro-wrestling, and (not to be forgotten) political satire, the Festival takes place from Oct. 15 '“ Oct. 19th and boasts 13 New York premiere indie film screenings, six live concerts, three art exhibits, two days of panels, and five days of parties.  Check out their entire schedule here.

As an added bonus in the Festival, Melissa Auf der Maur (of Hole and Smashing Pumpkins) will give you a sneak peak of her self-produced new project Out Of Our Minds, a multi-media concept album featuring an album, comic, and film, on October 17th at the Knitting Factory.

Danielle Levanas - Bargain Soul Huntress

Danielle was raised by a pack of coyotes in the Los Angeles hills. Since arriving in NY in 2001, she has had any number of strange jobs, including back-up singing for JELVIS (the Jewish Elvis), starting the non-profit LYDIA, and writing political cabarets. A huge advocate for travel as a way of life, you can find her at the Brooklyn Public Library when her bank account is empty, fantasizing about where to head off to next.
