FREE Fancy Mag Video Clip Extravaganza

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Since we all live in the YouTube era, we’ve been exposed to more than your average share of weird and wonderful video clips. There was a time when the only way we could relish in other people’s embarrassment on a national level required Bob Saget and basic cable. But now we can skim through thousands and thousands of home movies, old TV clips, and way too many cat clips with the help of the internets. While the latest internet meme gets a few laughs, I admire the few experts out there that can dig up  the really good stuff from the obscure pop culture vault. TV Carnage being one of them, and Fancy Mag being the new kid on the block.

If you have a penchant for public access television, bootleg music videos, and seventies movie trailers, then check out Fancy Magazine’s Clip Party at the Delancey tonight. From 9:00pm-1:00am, they’ll be screening a their own unique mix of bizarrely wonderful video clips. Sip on 2 for 1 well drinks all night and enjoy the subtleties of a Japanese Star Wars Expo and Judas Priest. To see the full video line-up check out their website.

Laura S - Spendthrift Scribe

Laura S, left the "sixth borough" three years ago to settle in Brooklyn. After working at some daily rags, she now does writing on the side but still eats more Ramen then necessary. When she's not moving residences every 6 months, eating her way through every neighborhood, and trying every microbrew known to man, she is unsuccessfully rediscovering home economics. With her binging days behind her, she's now exploring new projects and rediscovering the city that she loves (although is still prone to sliding on her knees during a Prince karaoke set).
