Rachel Park at Brooklyn Indie Market

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

As of April 3, Brooklyn Indie Market, one of many great places to scope out and support local Brooklyn designers, has re-opened from its winter hiatus!  One of the designers you should definitely check out is Rachel Park.  She started out with “[b]lending exciting colors, striking textures, bold prints, and contrast linings” for her men’s tie line, subsequently branching out to women’s scarves with a similar dynamic design intent.  She’s definitely my go-to for Mother’s & Father’s day gifts…or for those times when I have to get someone more than a card, but have no clue what to get them.

Though they can be a bit on the pricier side of gifts, I love that scarves & ties seem more personal than they really are, and what’s more is that you’ll actually be doing good by supporting a local designer.  Rachel will only be there for 2 dates and is suuuuper discounting her stuff (some stuff even marked way down to $10!) to make way for newer designs, so you’d better catch her now!

Though if you do miss her, check out the online sale here, her Mother’s day twitter giveaway (ends May 3), and her custom-made wedding ties.  But wait, there’s more!– Read her feature interview with Indie Market here and become a facebook fan here.
