Pete's Candy Store – Perfect All Year Round

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Pete’s Candy Store has been a staple of the Williamsburg bar scene for as far back as I can remember. And that year is specifically, 2003. Any year before that is dead to me.

For those who are unfamiliar, in typical Williamsburg fashion, Pete’s Candy Store was presumably, at one point, an actual candy store. In efforts to preserve neighborhood character, when in changed into a bar, the name remained the same, as did the sign, accordingly.

Pete’s Candy Store remains an awesome intimate live music with lots of other fun events during the week (bingo, backyard BBQs on Sundays, spelling bees, etc). Plus they have paninis, great cocktails, and decently priced beer, even if you don’t want to do anything but chill. The best part is, even if everyone’s heard about it and continues to be fairly popular, the crowd has NEVER been annoying. It’s one of the rare, almost liminal places that lives outside of trends somehow, and is amazingly BOTH a great summer AND wintertime bar.
