Northside Open Studios this Weekend

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

If you haven’t heard of the Northside Music & Arts Festival already, or don’t ever go to Brooklyn (really?!) then you may have noticed plenty o’advertising for this massive weekend event. Along with tons of bands playing venues all over town (see full line-up HERE), local artists will also be opening their studios to give a sneak peak to the public.

Wander around the neighborhood to see the best of local talent at work. Gallery-hopping is encouraged with extended hours and there will be special events, panels and even a “Rooftop Bikini Reading Party to promote Literary-Ness“, ah the things we do for culture.

Be sure to check out the launch party with Crestfest and Brooklyn Street Art on Saturday from 6:00-11:00pm at The End, in Greenpoint. RSVP for your chance to win tickets to see 90’s favorites and Northside Festival headliners – Guided by Voices or GBV as know them.

Laura S - Spendthrift Scribe

Laura S, left the "sixth borough" three years ago to settle in Brooklyn. After working at some daily rags, she now does writing on the side but still eats more Ramen then necessary. When she's not moving residences every 6 months, eating her way through every neighborhood, and trying every microbrew known to man, she is unsuccessfully rediscovering home economics. With her binging days behind her, she's now exploring new projects and rediscovering the city that she loves (although is still prone to sliding on her knees during a Prince karaoke set).
