Join Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Green Team, and Pretty Up Your Borough

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Pretty, lush, green spaces can be hard to come by in New York City, so we might as well try to maintain the ones that we’ve got.  Besides environmental interests, us urban-dwellers might suffer from something that I like to call “feudalism withdrawals,” in which we experience intense desires to step away from our laptops for a moment, and till  the land just like our serfed-out ancestors.  If you identify with one or both of these statements, might I suggest joining Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Green Team?  It’s FREE, it helps the community, and it’s way more fulfilling than impulse ordering yet another pair of psychedelic sunglasses off of Etsy (which is how I usually spend my free time).

What is the Green Team, you ask?  Well, it’s a group of super awesome humans who get together once a week, and garden the shit out of that park under the Brooklyn Bridge.  Planting, mulching, weeding, and making friends are all on each week’s agenda, so bust out your old lady rubber gardening clogs, and get ready to party.

The Green Team is a great group for anyone who wants to learn more about gardening, the nature around the Brooklyn Bridge, or help spiff up the park a little.  Stop by one week– you know you’ll feel good about yourself afterwards!
