Zine publishers Matt Carman and Kseniya Yarosh are heading back to Williamsburg to host the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Zine Fest at Public Assembly. The event which has expanded their lineup of writers, artists and publishers, will take place on Sunday, April 21st from 11am-6pm. Admission is FREE!

Last year we proved that tons of people still want to turn a real page when they read something. Zines take time to create, so a lot of care goes into these publications,” said Carman. “New Yorkers really respond to that level of dedication and interest. This is the only place in the world where every single idea can find its audience, no matter how niche or off-kilter.”

Women and ostracized publications will be heavily showcased at the Brooklyn Zine Fest including Womanimalistic, Homos in Herstory, and of course, the DIY food zine The Runcible Spoon which has been featured in The New York Times.

The event is open to all ages, but for those of you old enough to drink you’ll be happy to know that Public Assembly’s bar will be open and offering specials for all guests 21 and over from sponsor Brooklyn Brewery.

Enrique Grijalva - Mr. Minimum Wage

My father came, my mother saw...and I conquered. I encourage children to do drugs, I buy alcohol for teenagers, and I drink beer with the homeless. In my spare time, I attend art galleries for the FREE booze while rubbing elbows with modish elephants. I also hammer six-inch nails into small penises. Stuart knighted me as Broke-Ass King of New York. You've been warned.
