Today was a strange day in the ongoing battle between all that is good in this world and all that is evil.  Both sides had major victories, but who the winner is, it’s hard to say.

Bay 2 Breakers 2008. How fun does this look?

On one hand, we should all be rejoicing because Muzak, the company responsible for creating “Elevator Music”, one of the things I find most offensive in the world, declared bankruptcy today.  Halle-fucking-lujah!  Peep this article to read about it.

Unfortunately the forces of good took a major hit today as well.  My favorite day of the year is always Bay to Breakers. So much so that I planned a trip to New York last year so as to not miss it.  It was announced today that at this year’s Bay to Breakers, they will no longer allow alcohol or floats.  What the fuck?  That’s like going to Mardi Gras and not being able to see tits…wait, they better not take the nudity away from Bay to Breakers too!  Luckily here is a group trying to reverse this decision.

I’d be really heart broken right now except that I keep remembering that Muzak declared bankruptcy.  Wow that’s awesome.

Yours truly at B2B last year

I've been called "an Underground legend": SF Chronicle , "an SF cult hero": SF Bay Guardian, and "the chief of cheap": Time Out New York, but to those familiar with my work, I'm just "that douchebag who writes books about cheap stuff and drinks a lot".
