Tomorrow Night: FREE Camp-in Movie Night with Alite and Sports Basement

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Yeah, I don't think a train will come either

For those of you who aren’t so keen on getting all dusty at Burning Man next week, but are looking for an easy way to scratch that itch to go camping, our friends at Alite Designs have something for you. Tomorrow night (that’s Friday), the Potrero Hill-based camping goods company will be throwing a FREE Camp-in movie night complete with FREE beer and snacks, tents set up around a “campfire” and a help-yourself vintage popcorn cart.

And because the whole thing is inside the Sports Basement’s Bryant Street location you don’t have to worry about this fickle weather turning chilly and freezing you out. On top of all the FREE beer you’ll be drinking, they’ll be raffling off prizes like Alite backpacks and campsite reservations (which are surprisingly hard to come by sometimes), and you’ll also get 20% off everything in the Sports Basement from 5pm – 9pm so you can stock up for your own camping trip. If you’re interested, don’t forget to RSVP here. [P.S. If you really want to get outdoors and do some camping, check out their next event Camping 101 at Capay Organic farms in Yolo County, coming up September 11th, and also FREE with RSVP.

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
