1¢ Shots Courtesy of the Lex Every Hard and Fast Tuesday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Okay, so when it comes to getting toasty, you could hardly do worse than making a pit stop at the Lexington Club.  The Lex has a fondness for making a drop-in worth your while by offering booze in varieties of heavy-handed and cheap, or perhaps hard and fast?

They have quite possibly out done themselves with their newest special: penny shots. Yes, you read that correctly, between 8:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. every Tuesday they are pouring shots (house choice) that will set you back exactly one cent. It’s like some Busby Berkeley hallucination featuring liquor bottles dancing to “Pennies From Heaven”, then pouring their sweet, sweet contents into your parched gullet. Brother can you spare dime?  No, that will probably land you in the rubber room.

In addition to this fifteen minutes of delirium, you get an hour long chaser of two for one mixed drinks and beer. Plan the rest of your night accordingly.

An Evening With Wavy Gravy

Stephen Torres - Threadbare-Fact Finder (Editor, San Francisco)

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
