FREE Drinks Tonight for Tolerating Old Navy

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Apparently $15,000 was up for grabs from Old Navy. If you missed the contest, your consolation prize is tonight’s FREE cocktail party, where we can watch the three finalists grovel before the creators of Performance Fleece.

The $15,000 Old Navy Developers Challenge was cosponsored by ad agency Radium One. The assignment was for digital media developers to conceive a social network, game, or virtual experience integrating the brand. Four judges — one from Old Navy and the rest from agencies — will decide which developer earned the cash. Additionally, the winner will be able to distribute Old Navy offers for use as virtual currency within the game or network.
This background is just so you can mingle with the developers and publishers in attendance without looking stupid.

The point is this: Anyone can RSVP to get hammered at a ritzy hotel for FREE. By the end of the night, those inscrutable mannequin commercials might actually seem funny.

125 3rd St. at Mission [Financial District]
Tuesday, March 1, 5:30-7:30pm FREE with RSVP

Sarah M. Smart - Red-Light Special

Sarah M. Smart was summoned into being on a distant ice cream planet
through an unholy union of Two-Buck Chuck and unicorns. They sent her to Indianapolis and then the University of Missouri's School of Journalism
to spread peace and big hair. Perpetually in mourning for the comma, she
has worked for a variety of print media, including Indianapolis
Monthly
, Global Journalist, and Vox. Since moving
to San Francisco for the booming dumpster-diving scene, she has been an
online operative for such fine folks as Horoscope.com , Neo-Factory, and
Academy of Art University. After a day of cat-feeding, hat-making,
dog-walking, vegan baking, and daydreaming about marrying rich, all she
wants is a margarita as big as her face.
