Bakesale for Japan

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

In times of crisis, it is a natural impulse to try and lend a hand (unless you are a jerk by nature). Hunger is another example of such an impulse. Today, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM you will have the chance to act on those impulses and buy some tasty baked things, the proceeds of which will go to the relief effort in Japan. At last year’s Bakesale for Haiti, $23,000 was raised, so you know these bakers don’t mess around.

The Bakesale for Japan is nationwide, but there are five Bayrea locations to choose from. I will be hitting up the bakesale at BiRite, but mosy on over to whichever spot is closest and stock up on some soul-warming calories.

Bakesale for Japan
Saturday, April 2nd, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
BiRite Market (and many other locations nationwide)
3639 18th St. [Mission]

Ali was born and raised in the Wholesome/Creepy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, UT. Once she was old enough to blow that pop stand she escaped to the place that was the anti-SLC: The Peoples Gay-public of Drugifornia aka San Francisco (holla 30 Rock!). You can now find her throughout this glorious city slurping Pho and scheming with her best friend Pinky doing what they do every night; try and take over the world.
