Saigon Sandwiches for just $3.25
Saigon Sandwich may look a bit sketchy from the outside, but the sandwiches are more than satisfying on the inside. Tucked away on Larkin, between Eddy and Turk, you might question actually going into this place if you were just passing by. But no, you need to get in there and try one of the amazing Vietnamese sandwiches which cost only $3.25. I mean if crackheads in the TL can afford one of these, so can you!
There are only a few sandwiches on the menu but they are all awesome. Choose from pork, chicken, roast beef, meatball, sliced pate or tofu. They are served on on a crispy yet soft French baguette…and filled with sliced carrots, lettuce and cilantro. If you are into spice, make sure to ask for extra peppers. Their Bahn Mi (the pate) is authentic and delicious, according to Vietnamese customers.
Just remember the place is cash only, you may have to wait during the lunch rush, and be sure not to get mugged on the way out! Other than that – it is a great spot for a cheap lunch. Fellow writer Stephen Torres agrees it is worth the wait!
