Broke-Ass Friendly Deals at Park Chalet

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Park Chalet, not to be confused with Beach Chalet, is located just across from Ocean Beach and meant for us less fancy folk.  I must say, I was a bit skeptical initially.  After taking advantage of the broke ass style specials, though, I’m now a fan.

Perhaps I’m being too presumptuous, but as a broke ass I would have to imagine paying for ambiance isn’t your jam.  At Park Chalet not only do you get ambiance, but cheap food and drink as well (on select nights, of course).  There are a number of tables and a full service bar at which to be seated indoors, but the real gem is the spacious, open air, grassy area out back.  There are numerous tables at which to enjoy your meal without having to worry about people needing to “squeeze” behind you.

Now back to why this place is broke ass friendly.  On Mondays, from 4:00p.m. – close, all Chalet pints are only two bucks (check out the California Kind).  They also offer monstrous brats and sausages topped with onions and peppers for only five bucks each.  Everything else on the Monday menu, including chicken wings, a heaping pile of nachos, and beer nuts, is less than ten bucks.  What’s more is that on Tuesdays you can stuff your face with $2.50 tacos, three buck pints, and half price margaritas.  By the way, the wait staff is great.

For more information on weekly specials, including FREE movie Fridays at 9:00p.m., check them out at the link above.

Park Chalet is a great, cheap destination for anyone on a budget.
