Happy Hour at Mamacita

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Tucked away on Chestnut Street is a real Mexican food gem. Generally speaking, Mamacita is a bit pricey for us broke folk. Their happy hour, on the other hand, is worth checking out.

Happy hour, or la hora feliz, at Mamacita is fit for those of us with a hole or two in our wallets. Monday through Thursday from 5:30p.m. – 6:30p.m. orders of two tacos ranging from crispy chicken to corn meal, beer battered mahi mahi are served for only six bucks. Mamacita also offers margaritas and sangria during this time for as low as four bucks. My personal recommendation is the Cerveza “Big Dog” Style which is a two dollar Tecate served with lime, salt, and Cholula. Damn. Is that drool? No, we’re good.

For more information have a look at their happy hour menu.

If you want to enjoy a more upscale Mexican joint on the cheap, check out Mamacita during their happy hour. This place fills up in a hot minute, so get there early.
