Celebrate 1 Year of SF Public Works this Saturday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Has it really already been a year? I remember last year I went to the opening block-party of SF Public Works– which happened to fall on a Sunday, the day before I started my first day of work at my current job. Let’s just say that my co-workers were probably wondering what was wrong with the new girl that day.

Anyways, thankfully the Public Works 1 Year Anniversary Party will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 9 pm – 4 am. According to the people who run the place, “Its official, the jackhammer kid has been breaking ground for officially a year now and its time to loosen those nuts and bolts and celebrate…” Sounds like a plan.

Entrance is FREE before 10 pm or just $5 before 12 am, as long as you RSVP on Facebook. Otherwise it is $10 for everyone else.  Bring a donation (clothing, shoes, books, etc.)  to SFSmiles before 11 pm  – you will score a FREE cocktail!

Other drink specials include: $3 beer all night, $3 PW Cocktail till 11 pm, $2 Tequila Shots till 11 pm.

The line-up is pretty sick and goes something like this:

Bringin’ the dancefloor what it wants:
Kramer [DISTRIKT]
Shawn Reynaldo [Icee Hot]
Solar [No Way Back]
Pumpkin (Pocket Underground, LA)
Adnan [Forward]
Marco De La Vega [120 minutes]
Afrolicious [with live percussion]
Rich Korach [As You Like It]
Gordo Cabeza [Motown on Mondays]

Public Works residents:
P-Play [Honey Soundsystem]
Manitous [Slayers Club]
Blick [Peoplewatch]
Whiskey Devil [FnF, Want It!]

Shame Spiral and StayGold crews rockin’ the workshop with party classics (Third Sound System!)

Get out there and celebrate the birthday of one of the best clubs in town. With two floors and three sound systems -it’s gonna be a blast! And the good news is – you won’t even have to call in sick to work this year…

Public Works 1 Year Anniversary Party
