Gifteng: The Best New App For Broke Asses

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

gifteng-broke-ass-stuart

Take Freecycle, Pinterest, and the “free stuff” category from Craigslist, put them together, and you have new mobile app Gifteng. Gifteng allows you to get rid of all that random shit you have but don’t want to throw out because well, some of it’s actually cool. It’s just not for you. Gifts from relatives would be a major offender here. That’s where Gifteng comes in – just upload a photo and description and accept someone’s request to take it off your hands. And you can browse the site and choose to accept gifts from other people too. This would make ugly Christmas sweater “shopping” so much easier! Unfortunately, Gifteng is not quite a full blown reality yet and is still in its beta stage – it needs funding to grow. Go to their Indiegogo campaign here to donate: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gifteng-make-the-world-a-giving-place

And when this app launches for realsies, don’t say I didn’t warn you … I’ll be coming after all your ugly sweaters!

Patricia Scull - Patty the Pauper

Patricia Scull - Patty the Pauper

Patty loves cats, cheese, and irony, so although she is currently a petite Asian chick, she is well on her way to becoming a fat, smelly, cat lady later in life. Born in Korea and adopted to white people in the South, Patty spent her youth frolicking happily in the cornfields of eastern North Carolina. She currently lives in the East Village and can be found boozing her way through the bars (and streets) of New York.
