BAS Pride 2013: SCOTUS; FREE Grub @ Pilsner Inn; Faetopia 2Wrrk Fey Fashion Show

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

As San Francisco’s gay holy week is coming into the final stretch, the city is holding its collective breath along with rest of the country as we wait for word from Washington. When whatever is handed down, be sure to tune in here, so we can fill you in on where people might be gathering and when.

In the meantime, as promised, we got you on what’s going on today around town.

IT’S HERE PEOPLE! WE FUCKING DID IT! MORE TO COME ON WHERE, WHAT AND WHEN!

As far as kick-offs to the merry-making is concerned, few could argue that the Guardian’s Annual Pullin’ Pork For Pride Happy Hour at the Pilsner Inn isn’t the unofficial/ official start to this long-ass weekend before us. As always, there will be free pulled pork and veg jackfruit carnitas sandwiches, cheap brew, Good Vibes dildo give-aways and darling discos spun by Djs Brown Amy and Carnita.

Given the state of affairs at the Guardian these days and the anticipated guest list, it should probably prove to be either one of the more eventful/ morose/ uncomfortably fascinating happy hours you’ll ever attend. Still they’ll be doing HF Hearts Los Homos pre-sale, so you got that motivating you too.

Just maybe avoid wearing anything in white,  pastel or that isn’t scotchguarded.

Faetopia continues with yoga, native plant, and history workshops during the day, finishing off with a 2Wrrk Fashion Show from 7:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. full of high concept, fantastic fashions sewn by and worn by all of your favourite, local bright young things.

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
