The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

art-of-tinkering

This is pretty cool giveaway! The Exploratorium has given me three copies of their new book The Art of Tinkering to giveaway plus each book comes with a pair of tickets to Exploratorium After Dark. Go to the bottom of the post to enter or read below to learn more about what the hell you’re entering for.

If you’re unawares, The Exploratorium is a badass, hands-on science museum in SF. Well, that’ how I’d describe it. They do a better job though:

The Exploratorium is a twenty-first-century learning laboratory, an eye-opening, always-changing, playful place to explore and tinker. For more than forty years, we’ve built creative, thought-provoking exhibits, tools, programs, and experiences that ignite curiosity, encourage exploration, and lead to profound learning. Dive in and discover what we’re all about.

And here’s a blurb about the new book:

The Art of Tinkering is an unprecedented celebration of what it means to tinker: to take things apart, explore tools and materials, and build wondrous, wild art that’s part science and part technology. Join 150+ makers as they share the stories behind their beautiful and bold work—and use the special conductive ink on the cover to do some tinkering yourself!

And here’s a blurb about After Dark:

Experience life After Dark, an evening series exclusively for adults that mixes cocktails, conversation, and playful, innovative science and art events.

Not a theater, cabaret, or gallery, After Dark contains aspects of all three. Each evening showcases a different topic—from music to sex to electricity— but all include a cash bar and film screenings, plus an opportunity to play with our hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Join us and mingle with inventive scientists, artists, musicians, programmers, and designers. Enjoy live performances, provocative films, interesting music, cutting-edge technology, unexpected extravaganzas, and more, depending on each evening’s lineup. Leave the kids at home and meet friends or take a date. Where else can you find an intellectually stimulating playground for adults?

Yeah, this giveaway is super duper rad. Enter below!
