Yotam Ottolenghi is beloved in the food world for his beautiful, inspirational cookbooks, as well as his Ottolenghi delis and his fine-dining restaurant, Nopi. In The NOPI Cookbook, head chef Ramael Scully’s Asian-inspired pantry meets Ottolenghi’s Middle Eastern influences and brings the restaurant’s favorite dishes within reach of the home cook.

THE SURREAL REVEAL

Off the wall theater meets thwomping bass party at the intersection of strange and sexy in this fresh take on modern horror! Like watching Jerry Springer on acid in a haunted house, you’ll be privy to all the madness as the “baby daddy” of a newly born demon-child is determined… Costumes encouraged! Celebrate Halloween at Amoeba SF with their spooky spectacular! There’s rockin’ DJ sets of spooky tunes with DJ SQWRLY D, Costume Contest when you enter the frightfully competitive costume contest on the Amoeba stage! They close that evening at 7pm, so get in all your ghoulish shopping early.

Bad Asians: Adventure

Hosted by comedian David Nguyen (Punchline) and raconteur Imran G (the Moth), Adventure is the graceful moment when your dreams meet your daring. Adventure is 5PM on a Friday afternoon when possibilities are renewed. It’s saying YES! It’s saying go for it! Fuck it! It’s finding out what you’re made of. Adventure is the stories your friends beg you to tell your other friends. Each month, Bad Asians bring new themes, with new storytellers, and new stories. In the month of November, the Bad Asians will be explore the passions, curiosities, and excitement of ADVENTURES!

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Festival of Altars starts at 4PM, Garfield Park, 25th/26th & Harrison Streets. Marigold Project welcomes you to make an altar for a loved one that has passed away. Making a Day of the Dead altar is a way for us to honor the life of someone who is no longer with us and to remember our ancestors. Each year, hundreds of personal altars fill Garfield Park. Here’s a guide for you blank people.

After the polls close, join us at El Rio to watch the election results and celebrate the end of another election season. Need to dance out some of that election season stress? DJ Such n Such will be spinning from 10:00 – midnight. A bunch of other progressive groups and candidates will be at either El Rio or next door at Virigil’s Sea Room, so it should be one hell of a party!

Amy Weiss’ Election Night Party and NOW! Finale Event. Your last chance to savor the NOW! Ending strong with the election party for Amy Weiss who has put together a thrilling campaign for Mayor of San Francisco. Come out to celebrate Amy, enjoy musical performances from Equipto and others, and dance the night away to a silent disco featuring DJs Stefan Aronsen and Gingerkat while we watch the election results roll in and say goodbye to another amazing NOW! festival.

O GLORIOUS CITY: JEREMY FISH!
WED. 11/4 | 5:00PM @ SAN FRANCISCO ARTS COMMISSION GALLERY
To celebrate 100 years of SF City Hall, the San Francisco Arts Commission has commissioned 100 drawings by internationally renowned local artist Jeremy Fish. To prepare for the exhibition, titled O Glorious City, Jeremy Fish will be the first ever Artist in Residence at San Francisco City Hall!
