No, Their Not Waiting for Brunch, They’re Waiting for the Symphony!

Usually when you see a line stretching around the block in San Francisco it means one thing: brunch. Whether it’s at Mama’s, Mission Beach Cafe, Zazie, Brenda’s, Dottie’s, or one of the other spots where people queue up for hours, the folks waiting are craving mimosas and food.

But the line pictured above is different. Those folks are waiting for one of the most magical days of the year The SF Symphony’s Single Ticket Day!

On Monday July 17th, tickets for all concerts in the 2017-18 season go on sale! This means you can get the best seats to the hottest concerts starting at just $15. But you have to be there at 8am when the box office opens, because when the online sales commence at 10am, some of the best deals are already gone. 8am is when the adventure begins!

This deal is so good that every year people start lining up around Davies Symphony Hall at like 4am. So the symphony folks are turning this into a kind of party. The first 200 people in line get free gourmet coffee drinks from Lady Falcon Coffee Club to pair with free delicious buttermilk fried chicken and waffles from The Waffle Roost. It’s almost kinda like the parking lot of a Phish concert…ok, that might be an exaggeration.

This season’s lineup of shows is pretty amazing. Here are just some of the highlights:

– Michael Tilson Thomas conducting a Bernstein Centennial Celebration,
– Performances by world-renowned soloists like Yuja Wang, Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman
– Amazing concerts including Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Beethoven’s Eroica,
– Classic films like Amadeus and West Side Story on the big screen with the Orchestra performing the scores live, and much more!

Enjoy yourselves out there and save some chicken and waffles for me.
