This is brilliant and strange San Francisco performance art at its finest. I’ll let Jonny Ramada explain:

San Francisco has changed, man. It’s so cooperate now. You even need a permit to walk a freakin’ dog. To busk your butt on the street you need to pass a law at city council using shady back alley deals. But this former street musician says, “Jonny Ramada don’t do politics.” Ramada is bypassing all the paper work and shoulder rubbing by throwing a campaign rally at the Rickshaw Stop to play outside once again…at Outside Lands.

Wanna know who Jonny Ramada is? This is is who the hell Jonny Ramada is!:

Jonny Ramada hit full sex appeal in the summer of ’06 when he was playing rock and roll on the streets of San Francisco. After his commercial success with the ‘BBC’ documentary, “Jonny Ramada” (now in select film festivals around the world), Jonny began the next chapter of his life playing inside real venues, selling out each show. Beginning to feel like a sellout himself, Jonny decided to campaign to play outside once again. Ramada stated, while rolling a stone, “I wanna bring rock and roll back, baby. Back to the outdoors. Live the dream, baby. Live your dream. Live our dream. Or just live, man.” Jonny Ramada takes the stage with some fun, non political rock and roll on April 11th at the Rickshaw Stop (155 Fell st. in San Francisco) where he will be campaigning to play Outside Lands. I guess you should just live our dream and vote Ramada. I know I will.

Jonny Ramada, Headwaves and The Liners will all be rocking the stage on April 11th at the Rickshaw Stop. Doors at 8pm. Party at 8:01pm.
