Death Guild began in 1993 at a venue called The Pit, currently AsiaSF (definitely not as spooky sounding). It is one of the longest running industrial/goth nights in the United States.

This came across my Facebook feed over the weekend and I figured it was something I had to share. Hosting everything from clown burlesque shows to underground amateur wrestling to the longest running goth party in the nation the DNA Lounge is an integral part of keeping San Francisco strange.

Word just broke that the legendary DNA Lounge will be closing…most likely. Founder Jamie Zawinski wrote a long and impassioned blog post on the venue’s site explaining that, while he made shit ton of money in the first dotcom boom, he’s spent almost all of it keeping the DNA Lounge
