A-WA (pronounced Ay-Wa) is a band formed by the Haim sisters who combine music inspired by the ancient oral history of Yemenite women’s chanting with electronic dance music. Their debut album Habib Galbi brings unique identity with a lot of groove, electronics and a brand new desert beat fragrance. Tair, Liron and Tagel Haim grew up in a family of six siblings in the small village ‘Shaharut’ in southern Israel, not too far from the Egyptian border, amongst beautiful prairie landscapes with magical desert sunsets. Through their warm and genuine music, that breaks through language barriers and boundaries, A-WA has been making people dance worldwide, embracing all generations and walks of life.
