In San Francisco, the “Holiday Season” begins in the last full week of September, a.k.a. Leather Week, which officially started with Sunday’s Leather Walk. And while preparations are now underway for this coming Sunday’s “Folsom Street Fair,” which this year is calling itself Megahood 2021, preparations are also underway to fill your stupidest and dumbest fast-fashion Halloween costume needs. Yes, the first Spirit Halloween store of the year has arrived in San Francisco, having found an empty corpse of a retail store to reanimate at the Potrero Center Plaza on Potrero Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets.

The “victim” here is the former Party City store, whose entrance is actually on Bryant Street. It’s unclear whether that Party City is now permanently deceased, but Yelp reports it as closed, and its listed phone number is disconnected.

Searching the Spirit Halloween store locator, there’s also one in Emeryville (at the site or a murdered Forever 21) and in Colma (where they have buried the body of a Pier One Imports).

Other zombie Bay Area stories that are now, or will soon be Spirit Halloween stores include Sears, Office Depot, Lamps Plus, and of course Fry’s Electronics.

For all your Sexy Nurse, Sexy Astronaut, or Sexy Dr. Fauci costume needs, San Francisco’s Spirit Halloween store is open every day at 1685 Bryant Street (at 16th Street) from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
