Four people were injured after a vehicle went off a cliff and got buried in the sand near San Francisco’s Sutro Baths early Friday morning, fire officials said.

The crash was reported shortly before 3 a.m. in the 800 block of Point Lobos Avenue, with the vehicle going 30 to 40 yards down the cliff, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Of the four people rescued from the vehicle, two are in critical condition and two are in stable condition, fire officials said later Friday morning.

San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan on Twitter thanked police and firefighters for responding to the crash and said National Park Service crews have worked to make repairs at the site.

“Thank you for your service while some of us were sound sleep and safe at home,” Chan wrote.
