The 2022 San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival Presented by Conspiracy of Beards Will Be Presented November 4, 5, and 6 at The Lost Church and Balboa Theater

Presented each November by San Francisco’s Conspiracy of Beards, a choir of men that sing the songs of Leonard Cohen, the San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival is a multi-artist, multi-event celebration of the poetry, literature, music, and spirit of the late singer, songwriter, author, and poet.

The 2022 festival includes three nights of programming and features new material from Conspiracy of Beards in collaboration with dancer/choreographer Keith Hennessy; a screening of Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song and an interview/Q&A with the filmmakers, Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller; and an evening of Cohen favorites with old-time string band The Crooked Jades and biographer/songwriter Sylvie Simmons.

The Festival is focused on presenting Cohen’s work in new and inventive ways. Curator and Conspiracy of Beards choir member, Clay Eugene Smith, says about the festival, “We like to encourage artists to bend Leonard’s work into different shapes and interpret his intentions through their own lenses…to breathe, or conspire, with the open palette of poetry, music, and insight that Cohen gifted the world.”
