Nick’s Crispy Tacos is opening in a new SF location according to Business Times. Their original Russian Hill location on the corner of Polk and Broadway closed last year on December 28th after 20 years. Now, it’s been announced that you can expect to find them soon in The Marina.

Haven’t had a taco “Nick’s Way”? Imagine a double layered taco – one soft later and one fried shell – topped with a massive amount of guacamole with the filling of your choice (I always have gone with some type of fish). Just writing this and I’m dreaming of a Nick’s Way taco right now.

I will let you in on a secret (that isn’t much of a secret). Those of us who have been following Nick’s for a while now probably do know where to get Nick’s Way style tacos.

Nick Fasanella is the original Nick of Nick’s Crispy Taco and he pulled away from owning the Nick’s Crispy Taco business way back in the 2010s. He brought his double layered taco creation over to The Taco Shop at Underdogs in The Sunset. As the story goes, eventually, the taco shop moved and even expanded into different locations across the city under the name Underdogs. I personally like going to the one off 9th and then getting some ice cream afterward at San Francisco’s Hometown Creamery but there’s also a location off King, too.

Now, as far as the original Nick’s moving to The Marina. I’m excited about it – more tacos is always better! I’m curious if they will have those badass margaritas they used to have and those epic Taco Tuesday nights.

New Location for Nick’s Crispy Tacos is (according to The Business Times) at 3200 Fillmore St. which is currently the location of a lounge called Rockwell. No other details are available so far.
I’m just happy to hear that a beloved business is potentially coming back and looking forward to supporting the new location once they are up and running.
