Drag Queens & Gourmet Dreams Sizzle! in SF’s One Market
If you could combine the joy of a Drag brunch with fine dining while supporting a worthy charity, would you do it? One Market Restaurant dreamed this four-course fantasy and launched SIZZLE! San Francisco’s Only Drag Dinner Extravaganza on September 6th. Set to occur on the first Friday of every month through November, SIZZLE supports a different local charity while delivering beautiful nibbles by an award-winning Chef, immersed in a stunning drag show.
Host Bobby Friday and Chef Mark Dommen provided all of this while supporting The Castro Country Club (which I learned is a safe, sober gathering place and home for the LGBTQ recovery community).
We arrived a little before the show and were immediately folded in to the famed hospitality of One Market Restaurant. After Fresh Gazpacho I chose the grilled Wild King Salmon and it was so good I almost wept, a banana split was delivered to each of us.
I was in full glutton mode and not easily distracted from my sugary prey when the show began. Bobby Friday led the charge as we waved our singles high. We lived as MARGO!, Tila Pia, and Bionka Simone stunned with new looks and reveals. San Francisco-centric in style and execution, there is a lot to love about SIZZLE!
The next event on October 4th benefits Queer Life Space, offering affordable, queer-affirming mental health services and training future queer-affirming therapists. QLS serves clients from all backgrounds in a safe, inclusive environment.
Seating starts at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 8:00 pm. Reservations are available on OpenTable, with the Dinner and Show experience priced at $98 per person. Please note that this price excludes beverages, taxes, and a 20% gratuity. Don’t forget to bring cash for tipping the Queens!
