Trump announced that he’s ramping up the fascism by sending a “surge of federal officers” to various Democrat led cities in the US. If you’ve been paying attention, their dry run has been Portland, Oregon where brave anti-fascists, including a Wall of Moms, have been standing up against these federal thugs to say “This is America. Your gestapo tactics won’t work here.”

So far, Oakland is the only California city named by the Trump administration as a possible target to send his jackbooted goons to, so folks are doing what we do best in the Bay Area: Protesting!

The protest goes down this Saturday, July 25th, at 7:30pm at Oscar Grant Plaza in downtown Oakland.

Here’s all the info from the Facebook event page put together by Wall of Moms Bay Area and & Vigil for Democracy:

Join us – moms, dads, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and all guardians of our shared future. Let’s reject fascism. Choose love and connection over fear and mindless obedience. Reject secret Federal police in our cities, and celebrate our right to gather peacefully and protest. For racial justice today, and for whatever we damn choose next time.

Join marginalized protestors in Oakland, the only California city named for invasion by the jackbooted thugs (so far).

• Wear yellow (or orange if you prefer)
• Bring sunflowers or yellow flowers (fake ok)
• Wear a helmet (bike or ski helmet is great)
• Bring ski goggles
• Bring a sign or megaphone
• WEAR A MASK

If you won’t want to wear yellow or orange for the Wall of Moms it’s always a good idea to wear all black so that you can blend in with each other and not  be targeted by law enforcement agents in the future. We’ve got some safety tips on protesting right here.
