Bender’s is Reopening!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Happy happy Joy joy! One of the best bars in San Francisco is reopening! If you’ve been reading this site for awhile you know how much we love Bender’s. Considering the last time we wrote about Bender’s was to help them have a successful GoFundMe, this is exciting news.

Hoodline broke the news earlier today that this loud and fast rock n roll bar would be reopening on October 28th, but of course doing things a little different than usual.

One change is that, after 17 years, Bender’s will begin taking credit cards.

As Hoodline reports:

It’ll also debut two new parklets on either side of the building (one on South Van Ness and the other on 19th), and additional outdoor tables, making room for 64 new seats outside.

Its owners have also cleared the bar’s pool tables and pinball games from the interior and will offer distanced, partial seating inside (due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, all games will be put on hold until further notice). The back patio, for now, will only be used for staff.

Counter Offer will be serving the food once again but offering a modified menu from the one they had in the before times. Apparently Bender’s sister bar Emperor Norton’s Boozeland reopened in the Tenderloin last week and is serving food from nearby by L & G Vietnamese Sandwich. All this makes me so fucking happy!

Now go out and support them!
