Chilling Podcast ‘Spooked’ Haunts The Fox, Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th is approaching and for those of you who enjoy storytelling that evokes goosebumps and chills, the popular Spooked podcast is putting on its annual Halloween show, and it’s live and onstage at the gorgeous Fox Theater in Oakland.
Host Glynn Washington of Snap Judgment (KQED PRX), is on his 7th season of the Spooked podcast, a weekly show where true-life supernatural stories are told by guests who can barely believe they lived them. The podcast is a bit like ‘This American Life’, only if Ira Glass was traveling the country in search of the mystic, the strange, and the divine, and his broadcast studio was also a bit haunted!
“Spooked features true-life supernatural stories, told firsthand by people who can barely believe it happened themselves.”
Spooked host Glynn Washington is the grandson of a seer and as a teenager, he witnessed his first exorcism — and he began the process of whispering back to the shadows plaguing his nighttime. “I grew up feeling the veil between worlds was not as solid as I may have liked,” says Glenn, what is also perceptible to Washington are the millions of downloads his podcasts get each month.
Spooked has wonderful sound production and music to go along with well-paced storytelling that feels cinematic. It’s going to sound great, live on stage at the Fox Theater.
So be afraid. Question EVERYTHING.
The hit podcast Spooked comes to life onstage in Oakland as host Glynn Washington and guests celebrate Friday the 13th with a night of Snap Judgment live storytelling magic.
Come decked out in full Halloween costume for a chance to win the Spooked Live best-dressed prize! It’s storytelling — with a beat — and it’s all going down at the historic Fox Theater.
