FREE Chinatown Dumpling Crawl
Santacon is that special holiday where droves of people dress up like Santa to roam the streets with no particular destination. Except when the Santas realize they need sustenance other than cookies and beer. Last year, my other Santa, our reindeer and I went to a place called “Excellent Dumpling” solely because we thought the name was hilarious. The dumplings were pretty good, but the true magic came from walking into a restaurant to see the entire place full of Santas pausing from saying “ho, ho, ho” to shovel food into their mouths and greeting each other with “Hey Santa.” Tomorrow night, join an equally random group of people and roam through Chinatown with a very specific purpose: dumplings. The October Dumpling Crawl is a lovely stroll through Chinatown that stops in some of the best places to get soup dumplings, potstickers, etc all for less than $2 a pop. Scorecards and maps will be provided. You won’t even want a Santa suit; it’d just detract from the dumplings.
