A UCB Benefit and the New and "Improved" Dominos
It seems like there’s a Haiti benefit every other day, and that’s ok, it’s a bandwagon I’ll readily jump-on. And while most of us can’t afford to dish out the big bucks for high profile events, we can, however, contribute a little and laugh our asses off in the process. Instead of their regular Sunday show, Asssscat 3000, the people over at Upright Citizens Brigade are throwing a benefit of their own, aptly named Mercycat: A Haiti Earthquake Relief Benefit. Featuring performers from 30 Rock, SNL, and the Colbert Report, there’s sure to be some guest surprises. All of the proceeds will go to Mercy Corps, an international relief organization.
While Brooklyn’s great Taco Experiment may have sold out, there’s still time to treat yourself to some Sunday guilty pleasures. All of the internet is aflutter over Domino’s announcement of their new pizza recipe. Living in New York, we are spoiled with multitudes of pizza choices, but as someone once said “sometimes I just don’t want to talk to humans.” Their online delivery service which allows you to digitally design your pizza and track the completion of your pizza, is singlehandedly bringing pizza delivery service onto a higher plane. While I’ve always been a Papa John’s kinda girl (what can I say I like a good variety of dipping sauces), their claim to basically not suck anymore is slightly enticing. Boasting a flaky garlic herb crust and “real cheese”, Domino’s is pushing their way back into the finicky hearts of stoners everywhere. Check out The Awl’s hilarious bite by bite in-depth analysis of the new recipe, and good luck with your Sunday hangover.
