FREE Starship Troopers Screening at SummerScreen
McCarren Park is the best spot in New York to see spandex-clad hipsters sunning out their hangovers, guys selling empanadas out of Igloos, children riding scooters, fluffy dogs that fit into purses and adults playing elementary school sports. But on most days, there is an extreme lack of giant space bugs, pre-Charlie-Sheen-spawn-producing Denise Richards and giant asteroids hitting Earth. This will change tomorrow night with SummerScreen’s FREE showing of Starship Troopers.
I won’t say that Starship Troopers is the greatest movie ever, but I will say that it’s the greatest movie set in a futuristic, military society about teenagers joining the military to defeat the giant bugs who destroyed Buenos Aires with an asteroid ever. And the space bugs will look so cool on a big ass screen, as will Neil Patrick Harris telling you how to kill them. Get there early to stake out a good spot the brownish-green grass!
