Pat O'Brien's: Yankee Hater HQ
It ain’t easy being a Boston sports fan in this city. Not only have I had to learn to suppress my reflex of shouting “Yankees Suck!” after every touchdown, recovery or awesome wing I eat no matter which sport I’m watching, but have also learned that wearing Boston sports paraphernalia in public leads to many, many threats that should not be taken lightly. Fortunately for people like me, there is a place where we can “Party With Pride” and collectively ogle Tom Brady at Pat O’Brien’s on the upper east side.
The walls are covered with jerseys, posters, articles, and more about Boston sports teams both professional and college, with 10 large screens and satellite TV for your viewing pleasure. They have Happy Hour from 3-8PM Monday through Friday, but even better is an offering I have not yet hated my liver enough to take part in: $.25 draft beer from 6:30-7:30PM every Friday. They don’t sell food, but you’re welcome to BYOS (bring your own slice, obvs) and have a binder full of menus from local places for delivery also.
But wait! Hold up! Cuz there’s more! They have an ongoing raffle in which a drop of a business card could win you can win a keg for an hour of your choosing. You can invite as many people as you want, and since almost everyone I know who has entered has won (!), you should probably get ready to be your friends’ new favorite now.
