Keep it classy at BAM Cafe
Sometimes, you want to feel fancy. You need a break from warm PBRs and using a paper towel to touch the bathroom doorknob from time to time, and that’s perfectly OK. Sometimes you gotta treat yourself like the classy guy/gal on the town you tell people you’ll someday be, and go running into the twinkly-light covered arms of the BAM Cafe. Lucky for you, they agree and offering up free live music and happy hour specials to get you to put on your dress-up jeans a little faster.
From 6-8PM every Friday and Saturday, you can indulge in $3 beers and $5 cocktails under beautiful high-ceilings while gazing out the arched windows at the plebeians below. Watch out for the Jalapeno Margarita…it will be even harder to go back to canned lager after one bitey sip. At 9PM, free live music ranging from jazz, pop, indie rock and more will start and if you didn’t get there early enough to grab a table, you’ll hopefully have had enough to drink at that point to get dancing. Upcoming artists include soul singer Darien and R&B artist YahZarah so it shouldn’t be hard to get those hips-a-swayin’.
Appetizers such as the $8 Rosemary Pommes Frites and chicken wings are thankfully easier to afford because of the drink specials, but don’t forget there’s tons of great neighborhood restaurants to check out instead. On some Saturday nights there’s a special fixed price menu for $21 that I’ve heard good things about (namely, it sometimes includes spare ribs), and they also throw in a free glass of wine if you show them a stub from the Rose Cinema that day. Don’t say no one never did nuthin’ nice for ya.
