Dumb Cheap Pizza Lunch Special Is Afoot at Lil’ Frankies!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Perhaps you’ve noticed the rash of $1.00 pizza joints around town nowadays. It’s really testing the limits of the age old maxim of “there’s no such thing as bad pizza in New York City,” which is true when you consider what the outland territories (read: flyover states) dare to call pizza. But, y’know, the buck slice has its place amongst weary travelers and drunken revelers, however it doesn’t mean we can’t be the recipient of some extra delicious bonuses. Swooping in for a very special special ’til the end of April is Lil’ Frankies, offering $1 grandma slices.

For those uninitiated, the grandma slice is a thin crust take on the classic Sicilian slice, so it’s a crispy, lovely square. Also changing it up is the sauce/cheese placement, with the cheese resting on the bottom and the sauce (usually with more chunks of tomato rather than viscous goop) sits atop it, which gives them their lovely deep red hue. They tend to be a bit pricier than your average slice, and tend to be worth it at that, which makes this deal all the huger. Sadly, it’s only for lunch, so late night cravings will be left out in the cold, but between the hours of 12 and 5 it’s all for you, babe. Pop by next time you’re in the East Village and enjoy buck pizza well beyond its worth.

Dollar Grandma Slice Lunch Special thru Apr. 30th
