Creep for Free at Bushwick Open Studios

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I am fascinated by other people’s homes.  It’s like looking in someone’s medicine cabinet on a grander, way more obvious scale that sometimes involves deciphering magnetic poetry or discovering a secret My Little Pony collection. And or once, and it’s nice not to have to feel like a creeper about it at the annual Bushwick Open Studios this weekend.

Starting Friday, June 3rd, 350 shows in 130 buildings over four square miles of Bushwick, parts of East Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant and Ridgewood will be ready for your awkward perusal from 12-7PM. Overwhelmed? Start with the launch party at Pine Box Rock Shop and see where downing a few beers takes you.

Check out a full listing of all of the art/music/uncomfortable one-man shows HERE, but be forewarned that the L will not be operating this weekend (which, I guess, we all probably expected anyways.) Good art and good luck!

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
