The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Remember how when you were a kid, you couldn’t wait to grow up? And then you grew up, realized adulthood doesn’t involve naps, snacks, street games, someone who buys you food or more naps, and how much that effing sucks. Fortunately, the folks at Come Out and Play will let you transport back to those innocent pre-credit card bill times starting this weekend.

The series kicks off with Commons, a competition centered on neighborhood improvement, and go on to include events like early 20th century-themed hide-and-seek game Cowgirl Cowhunt and Shadowplay, a large-scale street game projected on the walls of New York City. The fun culminates with Come Out and Play Field Day on Governor’s Island July 16th. Check out full event listings HERE.

She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
