First Annual Brooklyn Bastille Day Bash

‘Mericans love to celebrate political victories, even when they’re not their own. But when there’s gin and cupcakes involved, I’m ready to jump on the beret bandwagon as well.

Our favorite website featuring all things wonderful and cheap (besides this one of course), the skint, is taking over Littlefield this afternoon for their first annual Brooklyn Bastille Day Bash.

Time to channel your inner Frenchman with a baguette eating contest. Hot dogs are for slovenly Americans, duh. And take in a little cabaret and burlesque while you’re at it. Because what kind of Bastille Party would it be without hot mimes and pasties?

There will be drink specials all day, including: Free Bulldog Gin cocktails 2-3pm, $5 afterwards; and $3 Brooklyn Brewery Summer Ale and Lager all day. So break out your dusty high school French “où est la salle de bain?”, (that one’s going to come in handy) and join the skint crew for some afternoon delight.

Brooklyn Bastille Day Bash
Littlefield
622 Degraw Street
Between 4th & 3rd Ave [Gowanus]
Saturday, 2:00-6:00pm
Tickets are $2

Laura S - Spendthrift Scribe

Laura S, left the "sixth borough" three years ago to settle in Brooklyn. After working at some daily rags, she now does writing on the side but still eats more Ramen then necessary. When she's not moving residences every 6 months, eating her way through every neighborhood, and trying every microbrew known to man, she is unsuccessfully rediscovering home economics. With her binging days behind her, she's now exploring new projects and rediscovering the city that she loves (although is still prone to sliding on her knees during a Prince karaoke set).
