Hey Hey It’s The Monkees FREE Show Tonight at Coney Island

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I feel a little shaky as I’m writing this. For some of you, OBVIOUSLY you will take the subway to the very last stop in Brooklyn, shove a Nathan’s down your hole and then stretch out with hundreds of NYC’s most devoted middle aged fans to hear “Last Train to Clarksville” live. It will be magical, and you will do your best not to cry. But for the rest of you, I must formulate these little black and white symbols into something that makes you do the same. How?! HOW!?

Maybe it’s by telling you they could count The Beatles as four of their millions of fans. Maybe it’s by reminding you your mom will never forgive you if you don’t go. Maybe it’s just by showing you their wacky hijinks-filled intro video to their show below!

For anyone who’s wondering, always struck a little odd that my fellow 80s-born friends and I are completely obsessed with the American Fab Four, The Monkees.  I got all up into some heavy Google action on the subject,

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
