Hear Patti Smith Talk About “Just Kids”: FREE at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe
Patti Smith is pretty much the quintessential New York icon. No matter how you slice it, that lady is badass. For this reason, the whole of New York City– and hip people everywhere– collectively peed their pants over her recent book about her relationship with artist Robert Mapplethorpe, Just Kids. Now Her Gloriousness P. Smith will be discussing her writing process, and life in general, at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe. Did I mention this will happen tonight? And it’s FREE? Happy Tuesday, y’all.
The lecture is part of McNally Jackson’s monthly series, Conversations on Practice, in which Glenn Kurtz interviews writers, musicians, and artists about how they hone their craft and keep their creative juices flowing and all that jazz. After Patti Smith’s interview, she’ll stick around for a book signing in which a portion of all book sales will go towards fighting homelessness and AIDS. Like I said, badass.
More information on the lecture can be found HERE. Go see Patti Smith and her perfect bohemian look and her too-cool-for-school attitude, and listen to her genius commentary, and oh god, this lady is just The Best!
