Broke-Ass Valentine’s Day Poetry: The Moon of My Life
Lucifer was cast out of heaven; I was cast out of hell
The perfect balance between Good and Evil truly rebelled
And as he fell for the beautiful Belle,
The Beast could illustrate with kisses, visions
Words can’t describe
Yet it’s written on your skin in invisible ink, I
Fell asleep in your dreams and woke up to your soul
A nightmare for my demons, dropped or broken with control
Sit or stroll as we kiss the snow
Love; if this is so
Feel it melt between our lips and have a taste
Question fate and prepare to have your answer paved
On the road unscathed by The Evil Eye
“Was I evil?” cried Dr. Jekyll reminiscing on Mr. Hyde
I laid down beside you when my mind was altered
I’d push pride aside to make you mine at altars
Made up mind with alterations to the first design
I’d make my move, but wait…
First, the sign
They’re offering the world
I’m prepared to bring forth YoU aNd I–Verse
One with the UNIverse, immersed with the stars
No longer guarded by your scars
And those blind tears you used to shed on moonlit bars
Evaporate like vibrations on smooth guitars
The Moon is ours
And we could handle The Light
So whenever I write
I look up to you, maroon in the night
This is dedicated to you,
The Moon of My Life
