Pay Per Song Karaoke at Planet Rose
We New Yorkers love us some karaoke. Heck, after a few beers most people across the globe love them some karaoke. There’s something in the combination of alcohol + having sung “I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen” solo in the 6th grade that creates an illusion of greatness with a microphone (or, in several DIY situations in my apartment, a spatula).
But then there are those who never sang a crappy solo growing up, because they didn’t want to then and they certainly don’t want to now. These people don’t want to pitch in $20-$40 to reserve a room to watch you channel your inner Kelly Clarkson, which in most cases is the only way to sing in this town. Planet Rose knows this, and has made it so you can still live out your rock star fantasies without torturing these people with $2 pay per song karaoke.
Zebra printed furniture, wireless mic’s, a huge selection of average-priced drinks, a pizza place next door and a refund if you don’t get to sing your song are a few of the things that make this place so great. For groups, on weekends it’s best to go around 9PM to claim some furniture and start filing requests as the spot becomes more popular as the night goes on. During the week, there’s also a 2-for-1 happy hour from 4-8… something good to remember next time a long day finds you needing to belt some Rundgen at the top of your lungs.
