Parked Food Truck Festival at South Street Seaport
For the 5th year in a row, the ladies of MeanRed Productions are bringing you their mobile-themed epicurean experience, the Parked Food Truck Festival; and this time they’re holding it down in Manhattan. Head down to the South Street Seaport today from 10am to 9pm where you can get lots of cheap bites, with each truck required to offer items at $5 and $8 prices. Along with the grub, there will be entertainment by acts such as The Hot Mess, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens, and the Two Man Gentleman Band (I saw them a few years go and I haven’t had a better group kazoo-along since!).
This could be a great way to entertain any visitors who may be in NYC because they have better vacation schedules than you — *ahem* Dutch-friends-I-met-at-a-hostel-who-have-two-months-off-from-work *ahem* — since it features a view of the Brooklyn skyline, FREE entertainment and a beer garden. Plus, with options like Wafels & Dinges, Kimchi Taco, and Red Hook Lobster Truck you’ll feel like a bona fide foodie without spending the cash or playing a Twitter scavenger hunt to find out their locations. Food, music, water, laziness – I wish all of my Saturdays were like this.
