Win FREE Tickets to Uptown ShowDown with Michael Showalter Nov. 14th

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Cats vs. Dogs. For countless years, couples, roommates, and school children have butted heads on this highly important and controversial issue. And on Monday, November 14th brave combatants Michael Showalter (The State and Stella), Leo Allen (Jon Benjamin Has a Van) and Andrea Rosen (Michael & Michael Have Issues) will face a group of three writers and performers from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon including head writer A.D. Miles in an epic debate sure to go down in history. Well, at least via tweets.

Hosted by author and Twitter virtuoso Maureen Johnson, the event is part of the new comedy series Uptown ShowDown, a quirky spin-off on the old-school debate teams, with the winner decided by the audience.

Uptown ShowDown describes itself as “tackling some of the most important issues of our time, such as which decade was the coolest-the eighties or the nineties, is cake really better than pie and who would win in a showdown pirates or ninjas? Forget about school reform and health care, these issues, heatedly argued by some of the funniest, smartest, intensely wacky creative thinkers around, are the topics that keep us awake at night….in a good way.”

To celebrate this awesomeness, we’re giving away a pair of tickets for Monday’s event!

To enter, just send an email to contests@brokeassstuart.com with “Uptown ShowDown” in the subject line by Sunday at midnight. The winner will be randomly selected and notified on Monday morning. (You will be added to our mailing list if you’re not already.)
