Patricia Owen Design Bookbinding

Patricia Owen (Patty) was an architect who found in bookbinding a medium more directly and immediately open to personal expression. The bindings in this exhibition reveal Patty’s continual exploration and a mastery of craftsmanship. It’s an opportunity to view nearly all the bindings she created over 35 years.

Kirk Crippens presents a one-day pop up exhibition at the former RayKo Photo Center in San Francisco with Pretty Gritty Gallery, featuring work made over the past year using analog 4x5 and hand processed 70mm film shot with a handmade camera. Born out of love for San Francisco, the work also acts as a quiet resistance to a current government that marginalizes many of the people pictured and includes a preview of the new series New Cartographies.
