Local band “Now” (Oli Lipton, Hannah Forrester,William Smith) performing in the produce section at Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco.
As if you didn’t need another reason to visit Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco, the lovable co-op with all the organic nuts, and direct-from-farmer produce you will ever need, is now offering a selection of locally sourced indie music.
The concert series is called ‘Under the Rainbow’, and it’s where local musicians use the produce aisle at Rainbow Grocery as a stage and recording studio.
Unfortunately, the concerts are not currently open to the public. Several bands simply used Rainbow to record a few songs after hours, to be published later on the internet.
You can follow Rainbow on IG for updates on upcoming recordings and artists @rainbow_grocery, and they will be uploading full concert videos on their YouTube channel.
By the way, Rainbow is one of the few full grocery stores (with an amazing cheese selection, we might add) that is NOT owned by a large, filthy corporation or a monopolistic billionaire. Rainbow is completely worker-owned and operated, so not only are you supporting your local community and farmers by shopping there, you’ll get much better customer service as well!
