Open Call For SF Bay Area Muralists

CATAN Studio, in partnership with Building 180, is commissioning a mural in Berkeley, CA, and we are seeking a talented muralist to design and execute this exciting project. The mural will be located at Games of Berkeley, 2510 Durant Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704, and it will serve as a vibrant and captivating addition to the area. This will be a paid and commissioned opportunity, the final budget will be determined once the artist is selected.

Overview:

The selected muralist will have the opportunity to create an exterior mural that spans approximately 700 square feet.
The aesthetic theme for the mural should be colorful, nature-centric, and offer artistic freedom.
The goal is to create an outdoor artwork that allows players to connect the game to the art without using traditional branding elements.
The theme of the mural will be based on the artist’s interpretation of CATAN, with a preselected piece of hex art representing CATAN incorporated into the piece.
Preference will be given to artists who have a personal connection to CATAN.
The project will be managed by Building 180, who will also be the primary point of contact throughout the process and assist in the execution of the installation.
Requirements: Experience with heavy equipment, 2 rounds of design, works well with multiple parties, experience with exterior/public-facing murals.
